***** You have a great new set of nails, is that it??? No there are lots of things you can do and some that you must do to keep your extensions or overlays looking fab, why invest in great nails and then not look after them??? As the saying goes "Nails are jewels not tools" so don't treat them like they are, you should not be trying to open boxes, tins, or unscrew plugs with you nails, we have tools for these jobs so use them. Nails will break if they are put under too much stress and this is not good for your natural nails either, so stop and think. If you break a nail don't pick at it, make an appointment to see your nail technician for a repair, if you have decided you want your nails removed do not sit and pick at them as you will probably damage your natural nail and this will not be a nice experience and can lead to preventable infections. Cuticle oil is a daily necessity to any nails and especially when wearing extensions as it keeps them supple and will help them to look great for longer. Listen to your nail technicians advice after all it is in your best interest and if in doubt call your nail technician, she is there to help you. Very rarely an allergic reaction can be had to any ingredients in products used and nail extensions are no different, if you suspect you have a reaction to a product used, which can include itching, redness or swelling, contact your nail technician for further advice. Maintenance appointments will ensure your nails stay in tip top condition and are also an opportunity for your nail technician to check the condition of your natural nails, these should be made for every two weeks. Any other dilemmas or questions, just ask your nail tech, she is fully trained and can answer your questions.
